The beginning stages…
August 12, 2008
I’ve decided to create this blog to update everyone on my progress with the book I’ve begun writing. I have a tentative title that few know about – but it’s still under advisement, so I’m keeping it under wraps for now.
The book is going to be a collection of stories that I’ve written about things in my life. Not in the sense that this would turn into a biography, but more of a bunch of stories about people and things and what I’ve learned and can teach others from them. Some will be funny stories; some will be awkward events; some will be straight up rants about the idiocy that can be found on a daily basis that will amuse you (probably just because they didn’t happen to you!) Somehow my catch phrase, “I couldn’t make this up if I tried” is going to be strongly integrated into the book. It seems to apply more and more these days. I also want to include some photos from over the years that others would appreciate – I have more than enough to choose from.
So, with that said – if you can think of something you and I have experienced together that you think would make good reading materials, send me a note and jog my memory. I plan on fully crediting people for their help, so no need to worry about that. I might need a kick in the ass sometimes to keep going on this, but I think it could be a really cool finished project. I plan on self-publishing it, having you guys check it out and give me your feedback, and then potentially pitching to a publisher – we’ll see how applicable it is once I finish.
For now, I leave you with a rediscovered favorite from last year…
