Diner featured in “Almost Famous” closes

Most of you know my love for the movie Almost Famous. And due to that love, it saddens me that the Sun Cafe is closing its doors after 46 years.  The Sun Cafe is a San Diego diner featured in the movie – you can see it when Lester Bangs and William are eating, talking about music (see above). iReporter ChrisMorrow posted a great video in homage to the diner – check it out here.

I always wanted to go there, and it looks like I never will. Rest in peace, Sun Cafe – here’s to hoping you’re not just boarded up or replaced by something tacky.
